Thanks be to Sunny, our brands liason and Trisha at Ramado for getting us in the door. Flirtskirt staff attended “Authentic” by John Ashford shoes presented by Eric Vega Productions and Ramado Face and oWn.

This runway show was held at rooftop Skyroom Lounge (330 W 40th) on May 15th. A special thanks to Richard Alan of Richard Alan Management (above right) for making me, the new kid on the block feel welcome. I arrived, notebook in hand and was whisked up to the 33rd floor via high speed elevator. I was instantly impressed with the layout at the Skyroom lower floor lounge that featured a fully stocked opulent bar, modern lounge décor, and walk out balcony. I ordered my first of three Ciroc Peach and sodas, hung out and networked at the bar for about an hour. Mr. Alan was so accommodating in fact that he let me get a few short smart phone video interviews from three full figured and rather curvy and stunning Ashford fashion models no doubt sourced by Alan. Meanwhile the girls were getting primped with makeup, hair, dress, shoes, leather neck jewelry and photographed about at the curtained off section of the lounge. As the evening wore on, all those in attendance including Jayda Jacques of No Breaks Entertainment eventually made their way upstairs to the rooftop at Skyroom.

The weather was perfect, the view to die for, and seating was cabana style (reserved) with enough room to maneuver on foot to the rooftop bar and DJ booth located aft. With music pumping, we honed in on the show about to begin. Viewing was a bit tricky without a functioning stage and it didn’t help that I missed my queue for press seating. But I wasn’t complaining instead standing tippee toed behind a trio of fashion photographers shooting themselves silly.

At least one runway model describes them as a work of art. Leslie (pictured left) loves the shoes! Our opinion…Over the Top, Pop color, color and more pop color, height, height and more height. Of course sexy and fun. It seems Ashford has integrated Pop Art expressionism into a line of women’s shoes. Other pieces are subdued in Earth tone (refreshing for this line) and suede platform with leopard print shimmer. Who does that and gets away with it? Ashford, that’s who and rather cleverly. Notice the leather neck jewelry by E Tempest. Her handcrafted pieces ground the look of high, teased hair.
